General

SCAA, Seattle Chinese Athletic Association, is a family of over 250 players and 75 volunteers serving the Asian community in a dynamic youth athletic program.  Athletes range from Kindergarten to 12th grade.

SCAA offers mentorship, participation on basketball teams, games and activities, learning opportunities, and community involvement all enhanced by strong support from parents, volunteers and community members.

Simply contact SCAA by e-mail via the Website Contact Us section.  You can also follow us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook @SCAAHoops.

Bequests in time, in kind, or in cash are a great way to help SCAA and support its operational needs and activity goals for its youth athletic members in the community. Donations are fully tax-deductible (SCAA Tax ID# 91-0915627), although potential donors should consult their financial adviser or tax preparer.  We are also always looking for volunteers to help coach Clinic on Tuesdays for our younger athletes and to help with our website, yearbook and events.

It is a part of SCAA’s long standing policy regarding equity and fairness that it abstains from making financial donations to private entities. SCAA is always willing to support its community in other ways including with time donations, with volunteer hours, or with awareness on our social media platforms.

Registration

High school boys who play for their school’s junior varsity or varsity basketball team are not eligible to play for ABL.  High school girls who play varsity are not eligible to play in Parks Department games. However, both boys and girls who play junior varsity/varsity may participate in SCAA tournaments and events.

If they would like to participate in SCAA non-league events (Winter Jamboree, CACA Portland Invitational, Al Mar Invitational, Hoopfest & 3-on-3) register during the registration period. If they make the high school basketball team, you may request a partial refund. The fee for participating in special events is $50.

Refund requests should be made in writing to registration@scaayouth.org and must be submitted by December 31st or risk forfeiting payment.

If the player will be playing ABL, players are placed on the team they played on the previous season. If there is space available, new players may be added.

We try to accommodate special requests when it helps families with carpooling arrangements or other special circumstances. Requests are addressed on a case-by-case basis.
