The deadline for obtaining sponsors has been extended to December 31, 2006. Please start contacting potential sponsors by sending out the form and visiting your local businesses. We have modified the sponsorship form with additional information to give our potential sponsors the history of SCAA and why SCAA needs the their support. The Sonics and Storm have teamed up to provide us with their Legends Tour, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the organization. The final stop is scheduled for Van Asselt Community Center this Saturday, November 4 at 3pm. More details

Passports are NOT required if traveling by land, but ARE required if traveling by air for the Vancouver, B.C. Strathcona Basketball Invitational, February 24-25, 2007. Reminder: Our one and only SCAA fundraiser this year is the team sponsorship. All teams will be expected to have a sponsor. Please work together with your team to find at least one sponsor. The sponsorship fee is only $200 and all sponsor forms and fees must be turned in by December 1, 2006. SCAA has begun notifying coaches of practice schedules to start this week, and players should be hearing from their coaches very soon. Registered players who have not returned the Parks "Youth Forms" and copies of their birth certificates need to do so immediately before being allowed to practice in the Seattle Parks gyms.

In addition to the SCAA registration form, participants (4th grade and up) must submit a completed Seattle Parks and Recreation Youth Registration Form (PDF).

It is with great sadness that SCAA has lost two of our players in a auto accident this summer. Andrew Lam and Ball Srisuthisuriya were killed in a vehicular accident on the West Seattle Bridge. Both boys were teammates on this past season’s junior team, coached by Arnold Vincente and Daniel Ha. Both families indicated that their sons loved being part of SCAA. They also expressed their gratitude for having this positive activity and support for their sons. Read The Seattle Times article
